Our Story

Hi, my name is Nikki.  I've always loved crafts, I remember when I was a little girl, I used to make artificial flower arrangements for Mothers Day and sell them at my auntie's pub!  In 2008, I had my first baby, followed by my second in 2011.  In 2016, things were becoming difficult on one salary, I really wanted to be able to stay at home with my babies, but like many others, we needed a second income.

Having a little girl, I found myself spending a fortune on hair bows so I decided to try and make my own.  A few months later, hand painted caricature jute bags were all the rage and one day at a playgroup, a friend said I should try making them myself.  Being someone who hated art and was absolutely terrible at it, I just laughed.  When I arrived home, I was intrigued to see how hard it would be so grabbed some A4 paper and a pen.  After weeks and weeks of practice, I finally felt ready to purchase some jute bags.  These became a huge success and the painting just got better as time went on.  Unfortunately, painting all day started to cause me neck problems so I needed to think of other ways I could continue.  This is when I decided to make my characters digital.  I found a lovely young lady who was studying graphic design who wanted to help make this dream come true.  After months of hard work, I made my first mug and as the saying goes, 'the rest is history!'

Bags Full of Sparkle isn't a huge company, in fact it's just me.  I design the items, I make the items,  I reply to the messages, I take the photos, I post the items, I run the website....

I will always try my best, but please remember I am a small business with nobody else behind the scenes helping me out.

I absolutely love making products, I am always open to new ideas.  I love that my products will put a smile on people's faces, I love that people love my products enough to purchase them as birthday and Christmas presents for other people.

Without you, as my customers, I wouldn't have this business.  It allows us, as a family, to make precious memories that will last us a lifetime and for that I am forever grateful.
